Hi I have booked my daughter and boyfriend in the crown paradise hotel for 2 weeks, the reviews of late have not been good on tripadvisor but i'm trying to put a book together, of things to do and places for them to go, so any advice would be appreciated just any information thanks
Need a little more info. Is this your daughter and her boyfriend or your boyfriend? Ages? The reviews for your hotel are up and down, but it looks and sounds like a nice place, probably just fine for young adults. Take the bad reviews with a grain of salt and really read the negative reviews, most people don't do their homework before booking and when they don't get what they expected they trash the place. There is plenty to do, diving and snorkeling is alway fun and diving is my favorite and that is all I do when I go. There is horseback riding and ATV's in the jungle, Tulum, Chitzen Itza, Xel Ha and Xcaret. There is wet and wild and Aquaworld, it is down towards the southern end of the Island and they offer a variety of things to do like Sport fishing, diving, snorkeling, submarines, powerboats and jungle tours. They have packages that you can get that you can do a little bit of everything for one price. There plenty to do and these are some of the main attractions you will find. Good luck
I have to agree with TW, I usually try to do my homework on any vacations we take and some will never be satisfied. We've booked the CPC for June, we know it won't be a 5 start resort but for the money I think we'll get good value. Go to YouTube and type Crown Paradise Cancun. The videos I've seen make it look it will be a fun place.
Wickedchris, I too am unsure of who is going, their ages and expectations, so I will just share my experience and hope it helps you. My husband & I & our 3 kids ( 16, 14, 13) stayed there in April '09. I did lots of research, just like when some friends and I went to Blue Bay Getaway, and then made my own decision that it sounded like a great place for my family & I to spend our vacation. Is it a 5 star NO!! Did I expect a 5 star NO!! Would I be happy at a 5 star probably not. We met lots of really nice down to earth people and enjoyed every minute. We were in Cancun the weather was perfect, what's not to love:headbanger: As anyone who has kids (teenagers) knows it is often difficult, especially in this day and age, to please them. But let me tell you my kids thought they had died and gone to heaven!! They made lots of friends, we gave them limited freedom, they had to check in every hour or so, always traveled in a group, stayed away from the lobby and the beach. They loved the place and so did my husband and I. We felt it was truly the very best of both worlds, the kids were entertained and happy we had a minor amount of alone time and lots of high quality family time. We did a zipline tour at Selvatica and loved it. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
1st - thank you for your replies 2nd - sorry i really didn't explain myself very well in my post. my daughter (26) and her boyfriend (24) are getting married on the 6th feb, and for honeymoon i have booked them into the cpc, they go on the 8th feb. I booked this 1 because of price, we had a budget, and i did a lot of research on the hotel we could afford, and the cpc, had great reviews, i've also spoke to people who have stayed there, and they said it was good. I know it isn't 5*, but to be honest, even though it is their honeymoon, they would be more happy going down a slide into a pool, rather than a violin player seranading them at their evening meal. .........lol Lots of things don't bother me about the reviews, as like stated when something goes wrong then people come out and it's all guns blazing. My main concern is the sunbed situation, as it seems there is 2000 guests with 500 sunbeds, and they are reserved from 2.00am............but hey that is life. I have booked them a room on the adults only floor, with a jacussi (sp) in it. But i'm not sure of the area, and the best places to visit, and things to do whilst in mexico. I want to put them a booklet together, that they can read on the long flight from england, telling them where to go and what to see. thanks
I just came back from the Crown. We had the Crown Club room too with the jacuzzi. We loved it. Food was very good, people were nice. I would go back tomorrow and it is my favorite place in Cancun. Beach restoration is done.
Ahhh they will be fine, you picked a good place and you know what to expect, they are kids they will be on the beach and sitting by the pool . It looks like they fixed up the beach too. Depending on whether or not they are into the club scene, there are plenty of clubs and some of them are pretty cool like the City and Coco Bongo' and you have to stop by Senor Frogs for a drink.
Oh, they are going to have a wonderful honeymoon, you are a great mother for sending them to Cancun! Do you have any other daughters??????:icon_mrgreen:
I've read on tripadvisor that it is finished now, and it looks good. does anyone know if the kids take their net book they can have free, internet access? what is the best currency to take from england? Also where is the best places/bars for the kids to go out at night. thanks
