Unfortunately, I can't make the CC spring break party in March, as my trip at the Golden Parnassus is instead from 3/13 to 3/20. However, it would be marvelous to meet some of you. Am returning to Munich for a friend's birthday party in Hartford (really for the weekend, but this will pump up his ego, I'm sure). Anyways, know there's a lot of people in the northeast on this board - with CT apparently being a hotspot. Anyways, there's around 20-30 of us heading to the Pour House in downtown Hartford on Friday evening, 1/29/10. They have a name night - and I've asked for my friend's name whose birthday it is (who is also a Steve) - to be added. Of course, the location selection was in any means biased by the fact the my name is also Steve. Basically, if your name is Steve and you are with others, you drink for free - not a terrible deal. Hopefully some of you will be able to make it...and not that I'd want to negatively skew the guy/girl ratio at the bar, as a fellow Steve I can appreciate the prospect of free booze.
My name is Steve and I live 5 minutes from pour house. It would be hard to turn down such a wonderful offer. There is a chance I will be out of town that night, let me see what the deal is. Sounds pretty sweet.
Good stuff. I'll give some additional details as to what time I plan on getting there, etc. and we can meet up. After the return from Munich to the US on Thursday night I could be somewhat banged up (always fun to get intoxicated mid-flight, especially with the quality of the Lufthansa red wine selection), so Friday will just be a continuation of that... It's 40/60 right now. I am supposed to go out with my buddies down in Stamford but that isn't 100% yet. I'd say I most likely won't be in Hartford, but there's definitely a chance.
Fletch...Steve...etc...if any of you are headed out in Hartford tonight, looks like it's Black Bear for me - like 9-10PM (say it's Steve Decker's birthday happy hour for free entry) and then Pour House after. PM me if you plan on going and I will give you my cell # to keep you posted.
