Be careful where you choose to party in Cancun. The elite men of Cancun like to prey on local foreigners, and have been known to through young, innocent foreign men in jail. Just be safe and take care of yourself!

I understand you are fighting a cause, but what does the above have to do with the posters questions? Let's keep the focus...I live here and feel very safe.

    Tori,

Since you live there, I was wondering if you could tell any of the good local restaurants. I really want some good Mexican food while I am there. Last time I went I could find any. Not sure if you have to leave the hotel zone or not.
    Thanks
    James

well, when I am in the HZ I always stop at Taco Factory. It's in the alley next to Dady O's. It's quite yummy. Haven't really heard about any nicer sit down resturants in the HZ that serve Mexican...none that have been recommended. I am sure there are lots. Your best bet is to go in the Living in Cancun Section and maybe post the question there. I don't go out a whole lot to eat, but when we do, it's usually to Los Arcos on Av Yaxchilan. 3x1 beers, good food, and good music. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Mexican restaurant next to/part of Dreams resort, supposed to be really good and authentic also. I cant remember the name of it though just that its right next to the resort.
