that might be there answer, but it might be cheaper if i wait to march 1st and book the flight.. should be tons of last minute deals!!
oh ok orbitz... hmmm thanks for looking by the way you have no idea how much that means.... anyway! two more days oh gosh i might die lol!! but it will be a blast!
I wouldn't do that if I were you. Missing a flight in the US will leave you at the mercy of the airline agent you talk to. Sometimes they'll just charge you a change fee. If you are lucky or have elite status, they'll let it slide. But missing a flight outside of US is no funny business. In Europe, they WILL make you buy a new ticket and last minute tickets aint cheap. Trust me, it has happened to me. I'm going to guess Mexico is not going to as strict as Europe but I wouldn't bet on it.
You know you can probably change your flight for a penalty ($100-200 depending on the fare class of your ticket) and the fare difference. Considering you paid $700 already, chances are, the fare difference will be negligible. Also, last minute deals are not as common as most people think. 99.99% of the time, the last few tickets on a flight are the most expensive tickets. The reason being is that airfares are sold in buckets. Most restrictive fare buckets are the cheapest and they are targeted for leisure travelers on a budge who plan ahead and they are usually the first to sell out. The least restrictive fare buckets are the most expensive and they are targeted for business travelers who can't plan ahead. The only time there would last minute deals is usually when the flight is wide open less than a week out but with airlines cutting back flights and focusing more on managing their load factors in recent years, you almost never see half empty flights anymore.
I just called delta, and they said if i miss my flight it wont be any xtra charges. I just loose that ticket. Meaning i will have to buy 2 more tickets at full pop.
