From the Temptations web site: "The spa offers four private treatment rooms and one couples treatment room; two large, glass tiled Jacuzzis with views of the garden; co-ed Swedish Sauna; and male and female changing rooms equipped with steam rooms, lockers, bathrooms and showers." Since traditional Swedish saunas are meant to be experienced nude, does this mean this is allowed at TTR? Co-ed? I am sure I know the answer, but one can always dream.
I had a message in the spa in 2007, but I was not aware of the jacuzzis or co-ed sauna. This is nice to know information. Good question, and any more info on this would be nice.
The "co-ed" sauna (BTW, the meaning of the word "co-ed" originally meant "males and females being educated together" before it go co-opted to other uses that didn't necessarily co-ordinate with the original meaning - so what are we learning in this Sauna???) is simply a "shared" sauna in the spa - meaning, don't expect privacy. I would guess that topless women would be OK, as I've seen women partaking in the jacuzzis topless, but I'm thinking fully nude and displayed as such (i.e., not a strategically layed towel) would not be welcome. I know my wife would immediately leave if she walked in and was presented with some "dudity" ...
if they are advertising it as a Swedish sauna, you would think that would mean nudity is ok. that's is the way you are supposed to experience a sauna!!! (imo anyway...being part Swedish and Finish!) its just tradition. but i suppose some people are offended by the beauty of the naked human body, and since TTR is not a fully nude resort, i would guess that the topless only option is what the sauna would be.
It's a shame we can't fully give the Swedes the respect that is due to their culture and participate the way they intended. lol...
who says you can't turn the shower on "hot" in the rooms and sit how ever we please? Maybe a loop hole! LOL see ya all soon
don't close the door on the Sweds yet... RobnStew didn't say they'd actually been at the spa.. what I read was a guess *L* you may still get your wish.
