Since Temptations is at the nortern part of the hotel zone, it's not really that far. About 10 min by bus or taxi. However I agree, unless you are going there to pick up something else, I would buy it at the airport or across the street from TTR. Scott
To be fair... if buying in quantity, I've noticed Walmart to be much cheaper than the airport duty free.
Now when you say quantity, how much are we talking about? B/c quantity can be very objective term. :icon_mrgreen:
Oh I dont know, a jaunt over to Walmart can be a bit of light relief from being inside hotel grounds all day. Visit a bit of downtown you wouldnt otherwise see, negotiating the buses, silly things like comparing the electronics prices, seeing the strange fruit and vegetables, the crazy parking attendants, the 12 yr old kids packing your groceries, being in an environment where tourists are the minority. I'd always recommend people get out and see a little of the 'real Cancun' - even if it is just a trip to Walmart.
Walmart is good, but what about Costco? We loaded up on great price booze on out trip up from Ca. this summer. Outstanding deals and Costco sizes for GREAT prices. We spent nearly 150.00 and still drinking well. I believe Costco is near Walmart.
I was very against going to Wal-Mart until last year when I failed to bring ALL of my make-up. I grabbed a taxi in front of the resort and zipped over to WallyWorld for a few essentials. It was a cool experience. If you don't need anything else but liquor and do not want to jaunt across town, go across the street to the liquor store. We picked up our favorite vodka and Red Bull for a change of pace.
Hi, Walmart is definitely worth a trip, but if you are paying by credit card bring your passport with you, we were asked for it when we were there last year. If you drink red bull it is about a 1/3 of the price in any of the shops around TTR, and being walmart, something else always attracts the eye. Lisa
