Last year by bag was just over 50 lbs and the airline would not accept it without an extra charge. I was able just to take out my insulated mug and, BINGO!!! That got me below the 50 lb mark.
I got hit with the 50# last year coming out of Mexico. I was over by 2# and she did not let me go.. It was a mess. People were pissed i was holding up the line...It's not going to happen this May... I will be under 50 # ...LMAO
We were 12 lbs over in one of our bags and we put some of it in our other bag and some in our carry on. Our friends ended up taking a pair of shoes. We were still a tiny bit over but they let it go. Ryan swears it was the 14 pairs of shoes I took with me. I just can't believe THAT! My motto is that you can NEVER have too many pairs of shoes! There's just no such thing!
LOL My first thought was DANG how big was that mug!!!! We have been over on one bag about every trip on the return flight....do dirty clothes weigh more or what??? Luckily they have let us through each time.
There are NEVER too many pair of shoes!!!! The bag was barely over 50 lbs. Less than a pound over and the airline wouldn't budge. The mug,,,, probably big enough to hold 3+ TTR drinks,,,, not too big and I stuffed it into my carry on. One bag = 50 lbs. I found that I way overpacked as I didn't wear half the clothes that I brought. Who needs all those restrictive clothes in paradise?!?!
I just use the one on site. Much more convenient. I don't have to go to my room and dig it out of a bag... they bring there's right down to the bar. ...and the pharmacy across the street sells extra gauze and antibacterial creams dirt cheap...
Jamie it sounds like you packed you bathroom and closet.. lol... good tips though ... it's almost that time...
