I love seafood.................but I like it better with lemon juice squeezed onto it. I've never been able to get a lemon or lemon juice in my many visits to Cancun. They always serve seafood with limes, even when I specifically ask for lemons! Yuk!
Does anyone know why? Is it just a Mexican preference for the taste of lime? I can't even find them in Walmart down town.

    Hey Tom,

We do have lemons. They just look and taste more like limes. Expand your mind a bit more. I know that you have experience in that field.

Micheal F. - I am not sure I understand your map. But I know that I can buy all the lemons I want in FL and CA, neither or which are blessed with a dot of any color.

    Ciao,
    T.J.

I thought the same, Mr. TJ. I was always told that the green fruits we eat and buy in Mexico are actually a different variety of lemon.

And it's in the language, too. You ask for limones (lemons) and you get the green fruit. Limas (limes) are not nearly as widespread.

First time my husband was given a slice of a yellow lemon with his food in the States, he just stared at it. Didn't trust it at all.

The green ones may well be called limones but they taste nothing like the yellow ones. I did once see yellow lemons on sale in Costco, I think it was, but it was a bag of 50 so never did buy it.

I have a small yellow lemon tree growing in a pot but it wont be ready for another 10 years or so :)
